Snowball, avalanche or your own order — see exactly when you'll be debt-free. A focused payoff planner with a month-by-month schedule and side-by-side strategy comparison.
The Debt Payoff Planner turns your balances into a dated plan. List each debt once, choose snowball, avalanche or a custom order, add any extra you can put toward debt, and the workbook shows your debt-free date, the total interest you'll pay, and the interest you'll save versus paying minimums.
Compare all three strategies side by side before you commit, then follow the month-by-month schedule that shows exactly how much goes to each debt and when each one is gone. Model an extra monthly payment or a one-time lump sum and watch the finish line move.
Your data stays in this file — nothing is sent anywhere.
Features
Every working sheet in Debt Payoff Planner. Click a sheet to zoom, or use the arrow keys.
The whole plan at a glance: your debt-free date, the total interest you'll pay, the interest you'll save versus minimums, and a balance-over-time chart that only goes one way.
Figures shown are sample data, not your numbers.
Benefits
No more guessing. Enter your balances and the planner gives you a specific month you'll be free, plus the total interest that plan will cost you.
Snowball for momentum, avalanche for the lowest interest, or your own order — Compare Strategies shows the debt-free date and interest for each, side by side.
Add an extra monthly payment or a lump sum and the schedule recalculates instantly, so you can see exactly how much sooner you finish and how much interest you save.
Honest fit matters more to us than a sale — ask us before you buy and we'll tell you straight.

Questions
Snowball pays the smallest balance first for quick, motivating wins; avalanche pays the highest interest rate first to save the most money. The Compare Strategies tab shows both — and your own custom order — side by side, so you can decide with your real numbers rather than a rule of thumb.
The Debt Payoff Planner is focused entirely on getting you out of debt: strategies, a payoff schedule, and a debt-free date. The Budget & Debt Navigator adds full budgeting, a savings center, net worth tracking and more. If debt is the one thing you want to tackle right now, start here.
No. Everything is pre-built — formulas, charts, and dashboards are ready to go. You only type into clearly marked input cells (they’re highlighted), and a Welcome tab walks you through setup in about ten minutes.
Yes. The workbook is a standard Excel file (.xlsx) that works on Mac, Windows, and Excel for the web. Microsoft 365 is recommended for the best experience.
The workbooks are designed and tested for Microsoft Excel. Google Sheets can import .xlsx files, but some advanced formulas and charts may not convert perfectly, so we don’t officially support Sheets at this time.
Completely. This is a file you own, on your computer. There’s no account, no cloud sync, and no data collection — your numbers never leave the workbook.
Because these are digital files with immediate access, purchases are generally non-refundable once downloaded. If you hit a technical issue or a broken formula, email us within 30 days and we'll make it right.
